Name: Michael Burr
Other Comments: Contacted me on MySpace, claims to be an engineer on Scottish oil rig with a 15 year old daughter going to school in London who ran up his credit card with online shopping. The credit card company has supposedly put a hold on his card until he is off the rig. I wised up before he actually asked for money, but he fits the profiles of so many others here.
i searched on the poems he sent me, which was what led to this site in the first place. It was confirmed when I saw his photo in the Ricardo Dipego section, as well as descriptions of other photos. I traced the IP address, and sure enough, Nigeria. I cut off all contact after letting him know I was on to him, before he got around to asking for money. We only chatted for a week, and by Day 2 he was professing his love- I knew something was fishy then.

Do not be afraid of the scammer. Threats are waste of his breath.
My scammer has my photo's also. If he posts them it does no harm as your the victim. Photo's are stolen and are used by scammers. The pictures you see all over
the net and here are stolen also. The fact this jerk has fallowed you here sounds
like the scammer on the Ronald Beven thread. Go take a look there and see if
it sounds like the same scammer ? No one will let this jerk get away with giving you
trouble here. Hes just pissed because he can no longer control you. Please for clarity
so others can tell which posting are yours. Pick your self a name made up of course
and sign your postings so people can tell which anonymous from the US you are.
I'm Agent 86 Maxwell Smart \\'^o^'// Over kill but that way nobody confuses me
with anyone else. There will be plenty of others who will see this thread and help you
with any information you may need. Your not alone in your battle with your scammer.
Be safe and be careful out there.
Kind Regards Agent 86 Maxwell Smart \\'^o^'//
I was an intended victim of Michael Burr too. We were in communication for around 2 weeks...though I started catching on that something was off almost from the beginning, but I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and I really wanted to believe he was as sweet as he seemed to be. The thing is...I'm usually pretty savy. I'm the one that tells my friends the Nigerian scams are scams...that if it sounds too good to be true, it is. And yet, he hooked me almost from the beginning.
Anyway, I broke it off before he got any money. I write a blog on MySpace and my own personal site and I do have a little traffic. I think I'm going to start writing a series of articles about this type of scam. I don't think I will post any pictures though. The poor guy in the pictures probably has no idea his photos are floating around out here. And I don't even want to think about what this 'Michael Burr' is going to do with my photos. I'm sick inside about it.
I was happy to find your site though. It always helps to talk to others who know exactly how you feel. Thank you. :-)
I tried copying the pictures from Barry Spellings, but I am unable to capture them. They just show up as black squares.
I've been lucky, I haven't heard back from him. I hope I never do. I can't believe I that I ever believed him and was so gullible. Anyway, I hate to think of anyone else going through the feeling of utter humiliation when they figure out they've been had. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help anyone here. I want to help stop these people too. As I mentioned before I plan on doing a series of articles on my blog...to try to make people aware of this, because I'd never heard of this sort of scam till I almost became a victim myself. And certainly while I lost no money...my feelings were compromised.
Anyway, please let me know if I can help save others from going through unnecessary heartache.
